Inside the Emmys’ Fashion Evolution: Sarah Jessica Parker, Zendaya, Lisa & More
The Emmys were just another day in paradise for Shailene Woodley.
After all, the 34-year-old headed into the Sept. 14 ceremony already a winner, having won for her guest role in Paradise at the Creative Arts Emmys days earlier.
But while her performance as Annie was universally adored, Woodley’s red carpet look left the internet a little more divided. The outfit in question arrived straight from Balenciaga’s F/W 26 haute couture collection and featured gold sequined pants, a plunging, periwinkle-colored tank top and maroon leather gloves that crept up past her elbows.
Though Woodley rocked the bold ensemble throughout the Emmys ceremony, when it came time to head to Disney’s after-party at Vibiana in Los Angeles, the Fault in Our Stars alum swapped her tank top for a t-shirt repping the 1986 film Home of the Brave.
While Paradise headed into this year’s Emmys with seven nominations—including a spot on the Outstanding Drama list alongside The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, The Pitt, Pluribus, Slow Horses and Your Friends & Neighbors—Woodley proved to be the series’ only win this year.
