Love Story’s Constance Zimmer Reacts to Show’s Snubs

Constance Zimmer is giving her costars their well-deserved flowers.

In fact, the Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette actress revealed her honest reaction after many of her cast members—including Paul Anthony Kelly, Naomi Watts and Grace Gummer—did not receive 2026 Emmy Award nominations for their performances in the FX limited series.

“I was surprised,” Zimmer—who landed a Supporting Actress nom for her portrayal of portrayal of Carolyn Bessette‘s mother Ann Marie Messina in the biographical TV drama—told E! News in an exclusive interview ahead of the Sept. 14 ceremony. “Paul didn’t get nominated or Grace or Naomi or writing for the show and all that stuff.”

“But that’s life,” the 55-year-old added. “Sorry. I mean, it sucks.”

Ultimately, Zimmer and Sarah Pidgeon (a.k.a. the Carolyn to Kelly’s John F. Kennedy Jr.) were the only cast members recognized among the 2026 nominees, much to Zimmer’s shock.
