Cameron Norrie exited the Los Cabos Open in the early hours of Saturday morning as he was beaten by Denis Shapovalov.
The British No 2 had lost his last six competitive matches, but was showing promise in Mexico and making the semi-final.
Norrie came back to win the second set but ultimately lost 6-3 5-7 6-4 to reigning champion Shapovalov.
The 30-year-old was broken in his first service game of the match to go 2-0 down before going on to lose the first set.
The second set saw him see through his opportunities to get back in the game, levelling after his Canadian opponent had broken to love.

At 6-5 he took two set points on Shapovalov’s serve, taking the second set when a forehand volley caught the line.
Shapovalov proved too strong in the end though, as he held his serve to earn a spot in the final in two hours and 40 minutes.
“Great serving from me today and I knew I needed it against a guy like Cam. He doesn’t give you many free points so I knew I had to try and hit my serves and hit tricky spots for him,” said Shapovalov.
“I am very happy, it was a very tough battle and I am ready to go to sleep.”
The 2021 Wimbledon semi-finalist will take on Arthur Gea on Sunday.
The Frenchman beat Coleman Wong 7-6(7) 6-3, who is set to break into the ATP Top 100 for the first time on Monday.
