Anna Konkle, Taegen Burns, Tory Kittles, Brianna Reed, J.J. Nolan and Paul Scheer have been cast in Netflix‘s new comedy series “I Suck at Girls.”
Konkle and Burns will both be series regulars, while Kittles, Reed, Nolan and Scheer will have recurring roles. They join previously announced cast members Kayo Martin, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Laila Pruitt.
The official logline for “I Suck at Girls” reads, “Three awkward high school sophomores stumble through the messy world of teenage romance and identity, learning that sucking at girls is just part of growing up.” The series is based on Justin Halpern‘s autobiography of the same name.
Konkle is best known for starring in and co-creating Hulu’s “Pen15.” The coming-of-age comedy series ran for two seasons from 2019 to 2021 and earned four Emmy nominations. Her other recent TV credits include “Mating Season,” “Hacks,” “Murderbot” and “Side Quest.”
Burns recently starred in the Blumhouse horror movie “Imaginary.” On the TV side, her credits include “Blue Ridge: The Series,” “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers,” “Monarch” and “The Right Stuff.”
Trent O’Donnell is set to direct Episode 1. Halpern co-wrote and co-showruns “I Suck at Girls” with Patrick Schumacker. The duo also executive produces for Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions. Other executive producers include Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer for Doozer Productions, as well as Chet Dave for Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions.
Netflix serves as the producer. Warner Bros. Television, where Halpern and Schumacker’s Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions are under overall deals, serves as the studio.
