Michael Olise: Real Madrid deny reports linking them with Bayern Munich winger

Real Madrid have denied reports linking them with Bayern Munich and France winger Michael Olise.

The Spanish club say they have not had any “direct or indirect contact” with the 24-year-old “his representatives, or individuals in his circle” following reports Madrid were considering making a bid of more than 200m euro (£173m).

“Real Madrid also wishes to highlight the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich… and regrets the dissemination of speculations that do not correspond to reality,” the club added in a statement released on Saturday., external

It added that “any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club must be addressed first between the entities themselves.”

Olise scored 22 goals and contributed 31 assists for Bayern in 2025-26 across all competitions and is a key member of France’s squad at the 2026 World Cup.

He provided the assist for Kylian Mbappe’s opener in a 3-1 win against Senegal in their first group match.

Real, now led by Jose Mourinho, have already signed Bernardo Silva on a free transfer this summer, full-back Marc Cucurella, in a deal worth £52m, from Chelsea and will sign defender Ibrahima Konate when his contract expires at Liverpool at the end of this month.

But they had a 150m euro (£130m) offer for striker Julian Alvarez rejected by city rivals Atletico Madrid.

That came after Real president Florentino Perez pledged to make a 150m euro offer for an unnamed “galactico” player if re-elected to his position.

Perez won 65% of the vote earlier this month to extend his presidency until 2030 having been in office since 2009.
