X-Men’s Tyler Mane Diagnosed With Rare Male Breast Cancer

Kate Middleton Details How Cancer Battle Impacted Prince William, Their Kids in Rare Comment

Tyler Mane is sharing a glimpse inside his private health battle.

The X-Men alum—who played Sabretooth in the beloved 2000 film as well as 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine—shared that he has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“Yep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it’s super rare,” Mane captioned a June 8 Instagram video. “Only 1% of breast cancers are men.”

Indeed, male breast cancer is a rare illness that begins as a growth of cells in the breast tissue of men, according to Mayo Clinic.

Noting that his “first reaction was to keep it secret,” the Troy actor—who wed Renae Geerlings in 2007—admitted that he felt the diagnosis was “kind of embarrassing” considering it isn’t as common in men.

“But then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advance stages BECAUSE it’s not talked about and not looked for,” he explained. “In fact, my doctors all dismissed it and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early.”
