Looks like Vans is the latest brand to jump on the Knicks bandwagon — and we’re not mad about it!
The California sneaker brand swapped out their signature black-and-white checks for orange and blue in a new Knicks-themed version of their Classic Slip On shoe. The new release is part of a special Game Day collection, that also includes Skate Old Skool 36+ shoe in a new bright blue hue.

New York City has been awash in orange and blue this week as the Knicks compete in the NBA Finals for the first time in 30 years. Vintage tees, favored by the A-list crowd in Madison Square Garden’s Celebrity Row, have become one of the most favored form of Game Day merch this year. Kylie Jenner, Timothee Chalamet, Spike Lee, Jordyn Woods and Jay-Z have all worn old-school Knicks tees — coveted collectibles that can resell for hundreds of dollars online.
Thankfully, Vans and other brands have capitalized on the interest with their own orange-and-blue apparel. Sportswear brand Homage has their own line of Knicks tees in faded hues for a vintage feel while Fanatics has dozens of more classic quarter-zips and polos embellished with Knicks patches. Some of the best Knicks merch are DIY. One of our favorites is this blue baseball hat donning the tweet-turned-chant heard ’round the city this week: “My mayor Muslim, my bagel Jewish, my Christian Dior, my Kicks in 4.” Yes, after their loss on Monday night, that last line is no longer applicable but I have a feeling it won’t stop more than a few fashion-forward New Yorkers to make the purchase.
