Disney has unveiled a first-look teaser at the film “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,” along with announcing the movie’s premiere date.
“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” will debut on July 16 on Disney Channel and stream the next day on Disney+. The original soundtrack will be available via Walt Disney Records on July 17.
The official logline for the fifth film in the “Descendants” franchise states, “Now that the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) is nice and Cinderella (Brandy) is safe, things seem perfect for Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) … but little do they know that changing the past created a new villain: Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam). When Maddox captures the Queen of Hearts, Red and Chloe must work with Red’s new sister Pink (Liamani Segura), Luisa Madrigal’s son Luis (Alexandro Byrd), Captain Hook’s daughter Hazel (Kiara Romero), and Maddox’s son Max (Brendon Tremblay) to save her and Wonderland.”

Additional returning cast members include Melanie Paxson as Fairy Godmother and Paolo Montalban as King Charming. The new cast members include Joel Oulette as Robbie Hood, Zavien Garrett as Felix Facilier, Ryan McEwen as Squirmy Smee, and Dayton Paradis as Squeaky Smee. It has also been confirmed that Awkwafina will voice Chessy the Cat.
“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland” is written by Tamara Chestna with Dan Frey and Ru Sommer. Kimmy Gatewood directs. Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh serve as executive producers, while both Chestna and Gatewood co-executive produce. Emilio Dosal is the choreographer.
In addition to the films, the “Descendants” franchise also includes multiple TV properties, including an animated spinoff and prequel spinoff show.
