Range Hires Paradigm Vet Jake Dexter as VP of Sports Content

Jake Dexter has joined Range Sports in the role of vice president of sports content, Variety has learned.

Dexter joins Range Sports — a division of Range Media Partners — from Paradigm, where he was a founding member of the Paradigm Sports Group.

“Range Sports is a full-service talent representation firm and in parallel with growing that side of our business, we are also building a first-of-its-kind sports content offering. Jake has an impeccable reputation closing deals on behalf of some of the biggest sports properties and content platforms over the past decade,” said Lowell Taub, chief revenue officer of Range Sports. “We are so happy to welcome Jake as we continue to bolster and diversify Range Sports.”

Dexter joins Range Sports in a newly-created role. As VP of sports content, he will represent unscripted sports production companies and showrunners and collaborate with other divisions, like Range’s media rights team and Range Studios’ non-scripted TV division.

Dexter began his career in the mailroom at Paradigm. He has been with the agency for over a decade, which has included time leading leading music crossover efforts, packaging and selling the Imagine Dragons documentary “Believer” to HBO as well as the Shawn Mendes documentary “Wonder” to Netflix. Dexter was also involved in packaging and selling “The Masked Singer” to Fox and packaging the Billie Eilish documentary with RJ Culter & his production company, which sold to Apple.

In his role at Paradigm Sports Group, Dexter advised leagues, teams, athletes, and entertainment properties on media rights, content development, and franchise expansion. He represented companies like Stick Figure Productions, RUMUR Studios, basketball star Jalen Rose’s Page Entertainment, Team Boxing League, and Paul Crowder. He was behind negotiating the media rights deals for the Savannah Bananas with The CW & TNT Sports as well as packaging the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing event on Netflix.
