Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old girl allegedly killed by the singer D4vd, died of multiple stab wounds, according to an autopsy report released on Wednesday.
The singer, whose legal name is David Burke, was charged on Monday with murder and sexual abuse of a child in connection with the girl’s death. The district attorney’s office sought to unseal her autopsy report following the filing of criminal charges.
The girl’s parents issued a statement through an attorney on Tuesday, expressing thanks to the investigators who pursued the case.
“Celeste was a beautiful, strong girl who loved to sing and dance. Every Friday night was movie night and we spent wonderful times together,” said the parents, Jesus Rivas and Mercedes Martinez. “We love her very much and she always told us that she loved us. We miss her deeply. All we want is Justice for Celeste.”
The Los Angeles County medical examiner completed the autopsy report in December, but it was kept sealed pending the LAPD investigation. The report found that the cause of Rivas’ death was “multiple penetrating injuries,” and that the manner was “homicide.”
The report describes two wounds to the torso, one in the upper abdomen, penetrating the liver, and one in the left chest. Her body was found in multiple bags in the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla. Her arms and legs had been cut off, and her body was significantly decomposed, according to the report.
The charges allege that Burke used a “sharp instrument” to kill Rivas. He is also accused of dismembering her body.
Rivas was last seen alive on April 23, 2025, when she went to Burke’s home in the Hollywood Hills, according to D.A. Nathan Hochman.
Burke’s attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf on Monday afternoon. He is being held without bail, and could face either life without parole or the death penalty if convicted.
