Stephanie Elam is closing her chapter at CNN.
The longtime correspondent at the cable news network announced that she’s leaving after more than 20 years.
“For more than 20 years I’ve been in the CNN orbit developing and delivering news stories on everything from the environment and entertainment to business and breaking news of all kinds,” Stephanie said in a statement released on social media April 18. “I’m so proud of my CNN career. Live or taped, writing packages or doing a show-and-tell, I’ve done it all—and having a front row seat to document history has been a gift.”
The 52-year-old—who spent several years at the company as a New York-based correspondent, left for a few years to work at KNBC and then returned to CNN in 2013, where she was primarily a Los Angeles-based correspondent during her second stint—recorded her final segment on CNN with longtime colleague and friend Sara Snider, who paid tribute to Stephanie with some emotional words of her own.
