Starz has unveiled a first-look teaser and images from Season 2 of “Outlander: Blood of My Blood.”
The prequel series, which will return this fall on Starz, continues to expand the time-traveling universe by focusing on the love stories of Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp’s parents. Season 1 introduced two parallel romances: Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), as well as Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).
According to the official synopsis, “As Season Two unfolds, the two young couples will be tested and separated by forces beyond their control, as every clan chooses a side in the rebellion.”
The first season followed Henry and Julia’s relationship as it began “through the letters they exchanged from the war-torn battlefields of WWI,” before an unexpected journey through time left them stranded in 18th century Scotland. Meanwhile, Ellen and Brian’s story centered on a forbidden romance between rival clans, with the pair choosing love over “tradition, politics and familial obligations.”
By the end of the season, both couples faced pivotal turning points: Henry and Julia arrived at the standing stones of Craigh na Dun in hopes of returning to their own time, while Ellen and Brian’s escape was cut short by the onset of the 1715 Jacobite Rising.
The new season will pick up from that moment, with the looming conflict shaping the fate of both relationships.
The rollout comes ahead of the “Outlander” series finale, set to air May 15. All previous seasons of “Outlander” and Season 1 of “Blood of My Blood” are currently available to stream on the Starz app and on-demand platforms.
