“Everyone Is Doing Great,” the coming-of-age comedy from James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, has found a home. Netflix has picked up the exclusive global rights for the first two seasons through a licensing deal with Sony Pictures Television.
This will mark the global premiere of Season 2, debuting on Netflix on May 11.
“What James and Stephen have created with Everyone is Doing Great captures what makes great indie television so compelling – it’s raw, authentic, hilarious, and full of heart,” says Paul Littmann, evp of global distribution, Sony Pictures Television. “Netflix is the ideal platform to bring this incredibly special show to audiences worldwide.”
Netflix has had a longtime partnership with Sony; earlier this year, the pair signed a new multiyear Global Pay-1 deal, with the streaming service having the exclusive global rights to SPE’s film after their full theatrical and home entertainment runs.
The comedy, which secured top prizes for at SeriesFest and Mammoth Film Festival, follows “former costars, friends and lovers Seth (Colletti), Jeremy (Lafferty), Andrea (Alexandra Park) and Izzy (Cariba Heine) as they are pulled back together to grapple with the absurd and the uncertain.”
Season 2 includes guest stars Jamie Chung, Phoenix Washington, Bryan Greenberg, Jessica McNamee, Robbie Jones, Merritt Patterson, Aaron Staton and Nichelle Hines. Lafferty, Colletti, Park, Ian Nelms, Eshom Nelms, Michelle Lang, Johnny Derango, Ngoc Nguyen, Stuart Lafferty, Rocque Trem and Garrett Greer executive produce.
