Jordan Firstman’s Cannes Debut ‘Club Kid’ boarded by UTA, Charades

“Club Kid,” Jordan Firstman’s buzzy directorial debut starring Cara Delevingne (“American Horror Story”), Diego Calva (“Babylon”) and Firstman himself, has been boarded by UTA Independent Film Group and Charades ahead of the Cannes Film Festival.

Slated to world premiere in Un Certain Regard, “Club Kid” is set in New York City and follows a washed-up party promoter who is forced to turn his life around when an unexpected visitor arrives.

Firstman, an internet-native creative talent and star of HBO’s “I Love L.A.,” wrote, directed and stars in “Club Kid,” alongside Delevingne, Calva, Eldar Isgandarov and newcomer Reggie Absolom. The film was shot on 35mm by Adam Newport-Berra, the director of photography who recently won an Emmy for his work on “The Studio.”

“Club Kid” is produced by Academy Award-winner Alex Coco (“Anora”) and Galen Core (“Lurker”), alongside Topic Studio’s Ryan Heller (“A Real Pain”) and Michael Bloom. Topic Studios also financed the
film as well as produced with Stay Gold as co-financier. Firstman also serves as an executive producer
alongside Ian Stratford, Charles Croft and Jasmine Daghighian for Topic, Olmo Schnabel, and Daniela
Taplin for Stay Gold.

UTA Independent Film Group set up the financing for the film with Topic Studios and is handling
North American and global sales. Paris-based international sales agent Charades has also boarded
international rights.

Firstman is represented by UTA, Black Bear, The Lede Company and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
Delevingne is repped by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dean,
while Calva is with WME, Entertainment 360, Lumina Management, Narrative, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.

Charades’ Cannes slate also includes Asghar Farhadi’s “Parallel Tales” and Emmanuel Marre’s “A Man of His Time” in competition, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s “The Samurai and the Prisoner” in Cannes Premiere, as well as Sandra Wollner’s “Everytime” in Un Certain Regard.
