SXSW London and the Russo brother’s production company AGBO are set for a “major” partnership at this year’s festival.
AGBO, a collective of artists, craftspeople and engineers who work across film, television, gaming, and immersive experiences, will bring its cross-medium approach to the second edition of SXSW London, making its presence felt throughout with programming exploring the future of storytelling, technology, and gaming.
Anthony and Joe Russo, who founded AGBO in 2017, will attend in person alongside partner Donald Mustard, formerly chief creative officer at Epic Games.
The brothers are currently in post-production on “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is set to release on Dec. 18.
AGBO’s long list of major credits include “Avengers: Endgame,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Extraction,” “The Gray Man” and the international “Citadel” franchise. Together, the brothers and AGBO have generated more than $7 billion at the global box office.
As well as “Avengers: Doomsday” other projects in the offing are “Avengers: Secret Wars,” now in pre-production, “Tygo,” “Mercenary” and “Extraction 3.”
“AGBO was founded on the belief that storytelling today is no longer confined to a single medium — it’s expansive, interconnected, and constantly evolving,” said the company’s chief creative officer, Angela Russo-Otstot. “SXSW London represents exactly the kind of global platform where those ideas can come to life. The U.K. has long been a driving force in the arts, technology, and gaming, we’re excited to explore how storytelling is evolving across disciplines and to engage with a new generation of creators shaping what comes next.”
Katy Arnander, chief programming officer at SXSW London, added: “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with AGBO this year. This is a significant collaboration, bringing some of the most influential voices in global storytelling into the programme. AGBO’s focus on building expansive storytelling universes across film, gaming and digital platforms aligns perfectly with SXSW London’s ethos.”
SXSW London takes place June 1 to 6 in Shoreditch, U.K.
