Anonymous Content has brought on Liza Burnett Fefferman to serve in the newly created role of chief communications and marketing officer.
Fefferman was most recently executive vice president of communications for Paramount’s Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, but departed the company following its acquisition by Skydance. In her new role, she will report to Anonymous president and CEO Darren Walker. She will be charged with leading communications and marketing across Anonymous’ three verticals, while driving marketing strategies and expanding global partnerships.
“Liza is a force – so many trusted colleagues recommended her, and it became immediately clear why,” said Walker. “She’s a big thinker, strategic powerhouse and exceptionally resolute in setting the highest bar. I am elated to partner with someone of Liza’s caliber, experience and integrity as we build on Anonymous Content’s legacy and chart its next chapter.”
During her long tenure at Paramount, Fefferman worked closely with co-CEO Chris McCarthy and oversaw a wide range of communications strategies, including crisis management, media relations, awards, social impact, and internal communications. She also oversaw the launch of numerous major titles, including “Yellowstone,” and worked on hit franchises like “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “South Park.” She also founded and co-led MTV Documentary Films, which earned seven Oscar nominations, 15 Oscar Shortlists, two Peabody Awards, four Emmy Awards, and 12 Emmy nominations.
Prior to Paramount, Fefferman worked at RADiUS-TWC, Samuel Goldwyn Films and The Weinstein Company. She began her career at Dan Klores Communications where she created DKC/Film.
“Anonymous Content’s enviable talent roster, culture-defining films/series/commercials and creative independence are unmatched,” said Fefferman. “When Darren approached me, I jumped at the opportunity to work at a company I deeply respect with a visionary and transformative leader I’ve long admired and a singular long-term investment partner in Emerson Collective.”
