Beehiiv Launches Podcast Hosting Tools for Creators

Beehiiv started out as a newsletter-hosting platform competing with the likes of Substack, then added the ability for creators to build their own websites. Now, it’s adding podcasts to the mix.

On Thursday, beehiiv launched podcast hosting and monetization tools. Users can create a podcast from scratch, or migrate an existing podcast’s archive over to beehiiv. Once podcasts are in the beehiiv system, it can then automatically distribute them to multiple podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast and Castro.

“No more juggling tools. No more paying three platforms to do one job,” beehiiv co-founder and CEO Tyler Denk wrote in a blog post. “And no more giving up your revenue, because we don’t take a cent.”

Creators hosting their podcasts on beehiiv at launch include: “The Gen She Podcast” with Avni Barman (who is launching Season 2 of her podcast on the platform); “The 505 Podcast” with Brayden Figueroa and Kostas Garcia; “The Rebooting” with Brian Morrissey; “Sweat Equity” hosted by Alex Garcia and Brian Blum; “The Most Important Question” with Quinn Emmett; parenting podcast “Not Right Now”; “Lunch With Jamie” hosted by Jamie Patricof; “AI Report”; “Womansplain”; and “Two Dads in Tech.”

Beehiiv, based in New York City, is currently seeking to hire someone as head of podcasts.

The beehiiv podcast tool supports MP3, M4A and WAV audio files, and the company says it uses automatic audio normalization across every episode. Each upload also includes a full transcript, which lets listeners skim, search and jump to the point of interest in a podcast. The podcasts are integrated with a creator’s beehiiv website, so each episode has its own SEO-optimized webpage to drive traffic.

“Publish an episode, share it with your subscribers, and track performance and growth — all in one place,” Denk wrote.

According to beehiiv, its podcast analytics are built to IAB standards, providing data breakdowns by country, listening app, device and operating system, plus episode-level downloads and real-time data.

On the monetization front, beehiiv users can bundle their podcast with existing subscriptions and offer a private feed to paying subscribers, according to Denk. The company also plans to expand its advertising network beyond newsletters to podcasts.

Podcasts are included on every beehiiv plan. Here’s a breakdown of what is included in each tier:
