Starting on Thursday, Apr. 2, all Sony PlayStation 5 gaming consoles will get an up to $150 price increase across the board. The increase in prices, which is the second increase in less than a year, comes ahead of the busy summer season, so it’s best to get a PS5 now before prices goes up.
Right now, you can get the PS5 Digital Edition for $499.99 on Amazon and Walmart. Come Thursday, Apr. 2, the same gaming console is going to be $599.99. We recommend adding to cart before the price increase.
DIGITAL EDITION
PlayStation 5 (Slim)
The PS5 Digital Edition, which is an all-digital version of the PS5 console with no disc drive, is a much slimmer and sleeker design, and compact enough to take with you from place to place.
Go to the PlayStation Store to buy and download your favorite games, then play them in up to 4K quality on your TV. This PS5 console also supports HDR technology, which displays your games in sharper and more vivid colors. 1TB of storage means there’s plenty of space for your titles, while the ultra-fast SSD means more playtime and less lag.
The console includes a DualSense wireless controller with haptic feedback for more immersive gameplay (the stand is sold separately across the board).
DISC EDITION
PlayStation 5 (Slim)
The classic PS5 with disc drive is priced at $549 on Amazon and Walmart, but it will be soon $649.99 at the same retailers.
The console boasts many of the same features as the Digital Edition, with 1TB of SSD storage, a high frame rate of up to 120fps for smoother gameplay, haptic feedback on the included controller and adaptive triggers.
These model also allows for “Backwards Compatibility,” meaning your PS5 console can play more than 4,000 old PS4 games. Of course, the addition of the disc drive means you can also use this as a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player.
Sony

PlayStation 5 Pro
Meanwhile, the PS5 Pro is also going up in price to $899.99. Currently, Amazon and Walmart both have the console priced at $749.99.

This adds to improved graphics and realism, while it adds deeper immersion to feel more true to life. It has double the on-board storage capacity with 2TB instead of 1TB, while the PS5 Pro has faster Wi-Fi connectivity for speedy game downloads, stronger cloud gaming and quick data transfers.
