Turns out there was more than just bragging rights on the line at the John F. Kennedy Jr. look-alike contest in New York earlier this month — the three winners of the event also landed themselves a Macy’s campaign.
Julian Devincentis, Joey Lindstrom, and Edward Preble were the finalists of the JFK Jr. look-alike contest, which took over Washington Square Park in Manhattan on March 8. While the 31-year-old Flatiron resident Devincentis was crowned the winner (and recipient of the $250 cash prize), he’s joined by Lindstrom and Preble as the stars of a new Macy’s photoshoot, showing off looks inspired by JFK Jr. and “inspired by key scenes” from the hit FX series, “Love Story.”

The popularity of the Ryan Murphy-led JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette series has led to a resurgence in think pieces and style pieces alike, chronicling the the beloved couple’s rise through the New York City ranks.
While it’s not clear if JFK Jr. and Bessette were frequent shoppers at Macy’s (though everyone who’s lived in New York is likely to have a story about the famed department store), Bessette’s employer, Calvin Klein, presented his first collection of coats and dresses to Macy’s back in 1968 and the brand has been a “huge part of the Macy’s ecosystem ever since,” per a rep. Kennedy, meantime, was often seen wearing Tommy Hilfiger, which is also a staple at Macy’s stores nationwide.

A lightweight suit is a summer essential and Preble sports a pick from Tommy Hilfiger. The blue-gray colorway is as at home in Hyannis as it is on a tropical honeymoon, though Macy’s has five other colors and patterns on sale right now online.
Macy’s says the outfits from the photoshoot are inspired by JFK Jr.’s professional style, while also “channelling JFK Jr.’s signature off-duty polish.”

JFK Jr. loved a backwards hat, whether it was a baseball cap or Kangol hat. Lindstrom is seen here wearing a Levi’s flat top hat, pairing it with a silk tie from Brooks Brothers.
“Love Story” premiered on FX on Feb. 12 and has quickly become FX’s most-watched limited series ever on Hulu and Disney+, according to the network. It’s also made instant stars of its lead actors Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon. The finale of “Love Story” airs March 26. Watch it here.

From museum exhibition openings to charity galas, Kennedy was frequently photographed in a tuxedo, and Devincentis channels the dapper look in this slim-fit tux from Calvin Klein, currently 50% off at Macy’s. The tuxedo jacket features a classic notched lapel, two-button closure and button cuffs.
“It’s truly an honor to be compared to someone like JFK Jr.,” Devincentis told the New York Post at the lookalike contest. “I’ve only gotten it once and it was three years ago on the West Side Highway. I was rollerblading and an older gentleman told me I resembled him,” he added. “[JFK Jr.] was a legend in his own right.”
