‘Morning Joe’ Duo Will Stick With MS NOW Through 2029

They may be giving up an hour of programming time, but Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are sticking with MS NOW.

The A.M. duo indicated Wednesday that they have singed a new deal that will keep them at the Versant-backed cable-news outlet through 2029. Many contracts with news anchors are for about three years.

“Mika and I are excited to be staying with our ‘Morning Joe‘ family and friends who have been watching regularly for almost 20 years,” Scarborough told Axios Wednesday morning. A spokesman for MS NOW confirmed the contract renewal Wednesday morning.

Scarborough and Brzezinski are eager to bring the long-running A.M. franchise — which they host along with Willie Geist and Jonathan Lemire — into the digital age. They recently launched a newsletter, “The Tea, Spilled By Morning Joe.” They have more time for such stuff, after the fourth hour of the franchise was scaled back by MS NOW President Rebecca Kutler in favor of a new show led by Stephanie Ruhle.

The show reached a core niche of Washington insiders and politicos each morning, making it a valuable place to establish MS NOW as a place for influencers. The program launched in 2007 and the original trio of Scarborough, Brzezinski and Geist remain with the program.

“We are about to celebrate 20 years of ‘Morning Joe’ — Joe and Mika have created something that cannot be replicated,” Kutler told Axios. “As we build towards the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential election, ‘Morning Joe’ will continue to be a singular destination for presidents and newsmakers from all political parties.”
