How Was Tate Paul Involved in the #MomTok Swingers Scandal?
During their nearly six-year marriage, Tate and Taylor took a swing at polyamory. In the May 2022 TikTok that unofficially launched The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Taylor revealed that she and her spouse were part of a “soft-swinging” group with other members of the Mormon #MomTok community.
While they were allowed to swap sexual partners, they agreed not to “go all the way,” she detailed. But the experiment proved to be a bit of a swing and a miss, with Taylor admitting she “stepped out of the agreement.” Though it was a “one-time thing,” Taylor added, she and the unnamed man “had feelings for each other.”
Though Taylor remained a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“I don’t think they’re going to kick out one of their biggest marketers,” she joked in a TikTok that September) she was ex-communicated from her marriage.
While Taylor said she didn’t necessarily miss Tate in the romantic sense, “He was my partner/best friend for six years,” she shared in the September clip, “and I do miss that part of him and us.”
Debuting her romance with Dakota, Taylor noted she’d be keeping him to herself.
“It clearly ruined my life,” she said of swinging. And while “obviously, I am no one to judge, but for me personally, I would not be participating in that ever again.”
