Fremantle Promotes Jimmy Fox to President, Content and Strategy

Fremantle, the company behind “American Idol” and the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot, has promoted Jimmy Fox to president, content and strategy, where he will oversee development as well as strategic business initiatives.

Fox joined Fremantle in 2024 as executive VP of unscripted development and sales. In his expanded role, he’s been tasked with “identifying high-impact business opportunities, strengthening cross-department collaboration around their valuable legacy IP, and supporting the incubation of new international formats in close partnership with the company’s global teams.”

During his tenure at Fremantle so far, Fox oversaw the release of the successful Netflix film “Evil Influencer,” which performed well in both the U.S. and the UK. He also helped launch ABC’s new version of “Match Game” hosted by Martin Short. Next up, he helped develop the new Netflix competition series “Win the Mall,” an eight-episode series that starts production later this month.

“Since joining the company, Jimmy has been an instrumental leader across both our creative and business efforts, consistently demonstrating an ability to identify opportunities and turn them into results,” said Fremantle CEO Jennifer Mullin in a statement. “From launching standout projects to forging key partnerships, his impact has been felt across the organization, and I am delighted to see him step into this expanded role.”

Fox continues to report to Mullin. His recent credits include the short-lived NBC series “Yes Chef!” He previously was president of Main Event Media, where he served as an EP on CNN’s “United Shades of America,” Peacock’s “Punky Brewster” revival, HBO Max’s “Sweet Life: Los Angeles,” Discovery’s Shark Week, Snapchat’s “While Black” and Amazon’s “Inside Jokes.”
