The 2025 Super Bowl will have some very famous stars in attendance. However, two of the most notable confirmed attendees – Taylor Swift and President Donald Trump – have some very bad blood.
The 35-year-old pop titan will be at the game on Sunday (February 9) to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce. Her suite will be heavily televised during the game and will likely host multiple famous friends.
Meanwhile, the 78-year-old president confirmed that he would be traveling to New Orleans for the game earlier this week. It marks the first time that a sitting president has attended the event.
Travis said that it was “a great honor” to have Donald attend the game. However, Taylor might feel differently since the politician has some beef with her and hasn’t hesitated to insult her over the years.

Taylor spent years remaining largely quiet about her political beliefs. However, she spoke up in 2018 to endorse Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper as they vied for a spot in the Senate and House of Representatives for her home state Tennessee.
Her endorsements came halfway through Donald‘s first time in office, and he was not impressed by her decision to throw her support behind two Democratic candidates. During an interview, he said that he like her music “about 25% less now.”
That was one of the first times Taylor dove into politics, but it would not be the last.
In 2019, she implied that Donald‘s administration was “gaslighting the American public into being like, ‘If you hate the president, you hate America.’”
“We’re a democracy – at least, we’re supposed to be – where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate,” she told The Guardian. “I really think that [Trump] thinks this is an autocracy.”
In the interview, she added that she would have endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. She promised to “do everything I can for 2020.”
In 2020, amid the pandemic, Taylor accused Donald of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” while in office. She vowed that people would “vote [him] out in November.” Her post came following the president condemning protests over the death of George Floyd.
That year, she told V Magazine that she would be “proudly” voting for former President Joe Biden, saying that she believed he could help bring about the “healing process [America] so desperately needs.”
Of course, her preferred candidate did win the election that year.
Although she helped to vote him out of office, Donald said that he “wish[ed] the best for [her and Travis]” in 2023 as we learned about their relationship.
In August 2024, amid his campaign to return to the White House, Donald lied about obtaining an endorsement from Taylor by sharing an AI-generated photo of the singer.
He later said that he was aware the photos were fake but did not believe that he could spark a lawsuit since he wasn’t responsible for making them.
Taylor proceeded to publicly voice support for then-Vice President Kamala Harris when she stepped up to front the Democratic ticket in the 2024 election.
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth,” she said in her endorsement.
Donald did not appreciate the endorsement of his competition. In an interview, he said that he preferred Brittany Mahomes, who is married to Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes and sparked backlash after seemingly “liking” one of the president’s posts on social media.
As the reality of Taylor‘s endorsement settled in, Donald took to his social media platform Truth Social in September 2024 to write, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Although her endorsement was not enough to secure Kamala the White House, she did spark a rush of people registering to vote in the 2024 election.
Data also revealed if her endorsement of Kamala hurt her career at all.
