Rhys Ifans is leading Apple TV+’s Star City!
The upcoming show is a spinoff of the space series For All Mankind, via Deadline.
The 57-year-old House of the Dragon star will play the role of Chief Designer, the driving force behind the Soviet Space program.
The series will cover an “alt-history retelling of the space race — when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward.”
For All Mankind was renewed for Season 5 in April 2024.
HBO tells TVLine that there’s no indication that his status has changed on House of the Dragon, where he plays Otto Hightower.
