“Tuner,” “Power Ballad” and “Poetic License” are among the films leading Miami Dade College’s 2026 Miami Film Festival line-up. The 43rd edition will take place April 9 through 19, and will include screenings of more than 160 narratives, documentaries and short films of all genres. The festival will also honor Adam Scott, Bob Odenkirk, Lili Reinhart and more.
“Tuner,” Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher’s first narrative feature, will be screened on opening night, while writer-director John Carney’s “Power Ballad” will close the festival. The centerpiece selections are “The Christophers” and “Poetic License.” Other notable premieres include Jon Kean’s “The Hollywood Rabbi,” the Keanu Reeves-executive-produced “Madwoman’s Game” and “The King of the Internet.”
“This year’s lineup showcases an extraordinary range of storytelling that reflects the richness of global cinema and the vibrant creative voices shaping the future of film,” said James Woolley, executive director, in a statement. “We are proud to welcome audiences back for a dynamic celebration of film that connects Miami to the world.”
Scott, who stars in Neon’s “Hokum,” will receive the Vanguard Award, as will Matt Bomer, who stars in Apple Original Film’s “Outcome.” Magnolia Pictures’ “Normal” star Odenkirk will receive the Precious Gem Award. Danielle Brooks, who stars in “If I Go Will They Miss Me,” will receive the Art of Light Award, as will “Hal & Harper” star Reinhart. Sonia Manzano will receive the Impact Award following a screening of “Street Smart: Lessons From a TV Icon.”
Considered the preeminent film festival for showcasing Ibero-American cinema in the U.S., the annual festival sees more than 45,000 audience members yearly, alongside over 400 filmmakers, producers, talent and industry professionals. The festival has screened films from more than 60 countries in the last five years and offers educational opportunities to film students and the community at large.
The festival will host screenings at the Olympia Theater, Silverspot Cinema, Koubek Center, the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall, Colony Theatre, Cosford Cinema, Coral Gables Art Cinema, FIU, Little Haiti Cultural Center, the Miami Beach Bandshell, O Cinema South Beach, Sanctuary of the Arts and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
